He melts my heart…

Kole smiled for the first time last Saturday!  I had him laying in the crib after a change and I was just talking away to him and all of a sudden…there it was!  The cutest thing I have ever seen!  He has been smiling ever since (though I have to work for them) but only to me…not his daddy.  I think that is because Conrad can’t talk in that super high, annoying voice that I can…darn!  He really likes when I sing to him and that usually gets a smile but I sure am forgetting all the great kids songs from when I was little…can anyone help?  I think the itsy bitsy spider won’t be going up that spout anymore as I have sang that over and over!

On being a Mom…

It is tough work!  (Don’t tell my mom that I have said that) Sometimes it can be very overwhelming but most of the time it is quite rewarding.  Kole is not on a schedule, at least not a daytime one, so that is proving difficult for me as most days I can hardly work in a shower let alone get anything done around the house.  I can’t believe how much he has changed in the past month as he is definatley developing a personality of his very own!  I must admit though that I look forward to the weekends as that means Conrad is home and I can pass Kole off to get things done.  Last Sunday I went grocery shopping all by myself…it was lovely!  This weekend I might try and go out to Starbucks and browse around Chapters, just for a little break.

This next month is very busy for us as we are going to be putting our house on the market next month so all of the projects have to get done.  But the weekends are busy with Conrad’s dad visiting, Christina visiting, supporting the LCBI girls at HOOPLA and then the URAT basketball tournament that Conrad and all his friends are in…so who knows if the projects will actually get done or not!  Our house is sure coming along as we have windows, shingles and rough plumbing.  The possession date is June so as soon as we get back from visiting Mom and Dad in May, packing will consume our lives…yuck!  I just can’t wait to have it over with already!

Sorry this is so short, but I want to go blow dry my hair before Conrad leaves for basketball.  Hopefully I will find time to blog soon…as figure out the darn problem with posting pictures.  I do have some on facebook though so check those out!
