The boys with all the sports balls they could find!

Team Chelsea (after my sister, not the actual team Chelsea)

Team…..I don’t think they had a name!

Ibrahim showing how many points they had

Our Host family photo!  This was the photo that I had printed for each child with a little note when they left this morning, but when I came back from WalMart with the prints, this is what I saw…

How could I resist taking a picture?!?!  I told Ibrahim that instead of being a scientist he should become a hair stylist…he did not agree!

Then it was soon bedtime!

The kids left this morning and we miss them so much already!  They almost felt like they should be in our family!  What am I going to do with myself without doing their laundry, making their lunches, going bowling, playing soccer, feeding the birds… I guess it is back to our ordinary lives!  We will forever be affected by these incredible children in so many ways, but especially from their pure joy that they have a Saviour and his name is Jesus!  Thanks Ibrahim, David and Johnson for all that you have taught us, it has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you and I wish you well for the rest of your tour and back at home in Kenya where your dreams of being a scientist, a pilot and an engineer will come true!

Love Uncle Conrad and Auntie Sheena

Monday’s activities…

After picking them up from the church at 5 pm, we went to my parents house for a pizza supper and dessert.  Then we went glo-bowling!  I had packed white t-shirts for each of them as they don’t have anything white (maybe that is because they can not keep it clean…I say that as I am doing their laundry right now!)  They had so much fun and they were hilarious to watch.  Through out the game, they stole our camera and flooded it with random photos of their white t-shirts, half of peoples heads, and their names of the TV screen.  It was a blast, see for yourself!

We are very blessed…

to be able to have these three incredible boys stay at our house for the next three days.  The are just a few members of the African Children’s Choir that are tourning across Canada.  These children have been everywhere from performing at a UN dinner in New York, to singing with Chris Daughtry on Ellen (they were singing me his song “Home” this morning) and in Camrose with my sister!  I asked them about her and they knew right away that we were sisters, but they thought that being twins was even cooler!  You will be happy to know Chel that they loved wall climbing and want to do it again!  There is so much that we have learned from these boys and the choir already, and we haven’t even been around them for 24 hours yet!?!?  Tonight we are going to my parents house for a pizza supper (one of their favourites) and then maybe bowling or hanging outside playing frisbee or soccer…if the weather smartens up!  I already don’t want them to go, there is so much I want to show them and learn from them but they have already made it quite clear that they are very excited to go back home to Kenya to become a scientist, a pilot and an engineer!  All I can say is WOW!!

Babies everywhere!

Posted in Uncategorized at 6:34 pm by sheenashepherd

Last weekend we had the privilege of meeting our friends Dena and Greg’s baby, Danyel Katherine, that was only 10 days old!  She was absolutely beautiful and their are both such wonderful parents.

This week, our friends Blair and Melissa (along with their daughter Makena) welcomed another family member, Bella Gracie, to their family.  We are so happy for them and can not wait to touch base to see how they are doing.

If a few days, it will be a co-workers due date to also welcome her second child into this world and to be a baby sister to her daughter Cadence.

Then, in less then two weeks, another set of good friends, Kaley and Shawn, are going to be celebrating the birth of their first child.  We will be sharing a hotel room with them at the beginning of June in Saskatoon for a friends wedding, we can’t wait!!!

Then, just yesterday, I found out that a girl that I worked with up in the Yukon who was married the same day as Conrad and I, is expecting, we are so happy for them!

It is so easy to see how wonderful and loving our Creator is when we see how he can bless us with life!  What an awesome gift!
