New links
I just wanted to let you know of three new links that I have added to the right side of my blog, they are all worth checking out!
The first being my CLBI roomate, Catherine. I could of sworn that I had her there but in a quest to find her blog the other day I realized she was no where to be found…I am sorry Cat!! In a matter of days she will be moving to Minneapolis to volunteer at the World Mission Prayer League for 3 months as part of her internship. I wish you all the best Cat….keep your room clean!
The second is my dear Janelle. She is one of the most precious people in my life and I love her to bits! In mid-January she will be headed to Wellington, New Zealand to work for Open Home Foundation as a social worker. This is a big decision she has made as she will be there for a year. Conrad and I are hoping to go visit her in September and are very much looking forward to visiting with her and hearing all about living and working overseas!
The third one is Janelle’s youngest sister, Krista. As I write this, she is on her way to Perth, Australia to attend YWAM for a 6 month DTS which will be followed with some travelling on her own.
All three of these women are embarking on new journies in new places. I pray that they will adjust well in their new atmospheres and that God will be prevalent to each one of them. I admire their courage for stepping out into this world and doing what God has set out for them to do…I love each one of you!

Christmas is over?!?!
I can’t believe how long we look forward to Christmas and how quickly it is over, it was a great holiday though. Cullen and Chelsea are home from school and Grandma came down for a couple of days. Christmas Eve we went to church and then to my Aunt’s for supper and a few gifts. The next day we went to my parents for breakfast, my dad’s new tradition is a waffle breakfast made by him…we will see how long it lasts!! Then we opened stockings, played games, laughed so hard that we are still all hurting and then had a wonderful meal cooked by my mom. What a great time had by all!!

Gold, Frankincense and Mur (Murray)…it was dad’s joke!

U of T gear from Kyle

Santa gave us all 2007 Grey Cup Champion t-shirts. These were the first style made.
It was sure nice to have Cullen home as he heads back to school tomorrow and then a couple days later he flies to Bolivia for a month-long mission trip. He is very much looking forward to all that God has planned for him but is need of prayer as he will need strength, love and an open mind for what he will be faced with down there. So please, if you remember, just give a shout out to him and his team, it would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Have a great New Years!!

My nonexistence!
I know I started this new blog with every intention of blogging more regularily but lately I have been quite ill! I finally went to the doctor yesterday and he says (if I understood him correctly) that I have a chest and nasal infection and he also tested me for strept throat (as I get it all the time). He gave me a couple medications but they still do not seem to be helping. I missed yesterday and today at work and I just feel awful about it. Granted, this is probably the best week out of the whole year to call in sick as the office is quite slow but still, I just had a week of holidays two weeks ago and I have a week off next week!! Lets hope that this clears up before Christmas!
What else has happened…plans are coming together for our Phoenix trip, getting pretty excited about that!! We may also be taking another bigger trip next year to visit a friend (will blog about it at another time where I can do a whole post on it) which we are very excited for!! Lets just hope it all works out!
So has anyone made any New Years resolutions yet? Or do you even bother with that anymore as they usually fall through in the first 3 weeks! I have decided that as of Jan 1 I am going to try everything I can to be more joyful. That may sound corny but I truly want to be completely filled with joy so that I can appreciate life and all that is has to offer more regularly. There are several areas in my life that I must work at in order to be joyful as a whole and I plan on gradual working on each of those as the year goes by. Anyone else decided on what theirs is going to be?
Anyway, I best go back bed to get more rest!

Bedouin Soundclash
Conrad and I attended the Bedouin Soundclash concert last night. I have to say that they sure put on a good stage performance, they are very energetic, fun, and interactive with the audience. The only downfall was the venue, but that always seems to be an issue for me as I can not stand nightclubs of any kind, too many drunk people and rancid smells. All in all, we were very tired when we got home and my back hurt…but Bedouin was great!
Before going out to the concert we met James, Melissa and Sommer at Joeys Only for dessert. I held Sommer the whole time we were there, she is such a sweetheart. She is already 6 weeks old today, time is sure flying by. Babies just have a way of melting your heart, don’t they?! By just looking at her I could recognize the greatness of God in so many ways. We are so lucky that we have such a loving heavenly father that can bless us with the ability to bring new life to this world. I can’t wait to see little Sommer again.

Fear of Failure
Is anyone else terrified of failure? Or how about the fear of the feel of failure? I have always been terrified that I am going to fail at something, whether it is important or not.
For example, I have been taking a correspondence course called the Canadian Securities Course for well over a year now and have yet to get heavy into study because then I would have to book the exam which means then I would fail. Not only would I fail the exam but I would fail the expectations that my boss has for me and the possibility of furthering my career in the investment world. I know that sounds a bit extreme for most normal people…but I don’t think I am normal when it comes to this.
And it is not only big things like wrecking my career, it is little things too. Another example, I played volleyball my whole life and even some how managed to get MVP of my senior team in high school. “That is awesome,” you say, “that isn’t failing at anything!” Well maybe that wasn’t failing at that, but it has taken me 4 years to get up the courage to actually play on a recreational volleyball team because they might not think I am any good! “Who cares what people think?” Well, apparently I do.
Even when it comes to friendships, I know that I am going to someday, fail my friends for not being ‘the best’ friend. Not intentionally of course, I wouldn’t intentionally do that!! It just might happen.
So then, this gets me thinking about other relationships, my husband, my future as a mom (hopefully one day), as a sister, a daughter, a neice, etc. By now you are probably thinking that I could get some use out of seeing some kind of counsellar, but I just want to know…
Is anyone else scared of failing????

Merry Christmas from the Shepherds
Here is the family picture we took to send out to family and friends along with a holiday greeting that says “Many blessings to you and the Roughriders this holiday season!”. At first I thought it was a bit tacky but then remembered that we haven’t won the Grey Cup in years and we have a right to be tacky!! So there!

The weekend
After a very long and quite painful week of work, I was very much looking forward to the weekend and my week off! I finally finished at work about 6:30 and then Conrad and I decided that we should go out to eat. This is uncommon for us as we usually never go out just the two of us…not sure why I guess, maybe because we can have dinner together at home for free!?! Anyway, after seeing how long the wait would be at The Keg, The Cottage and Greekos, we decided to be boring and go to the always faithful Brewsters. We had a wonderful meal there and lots of wine (just me) only because I ordered one glass and enjoyed it so much that I asked the waitress to bump it up to half a litre (so minus a serving from the half a litre and bring me the remainder). I didn’t think it was too difficult of a request but I hear that I can be difficult at times. Anyway, so a couple minutes later she comes back with a very full half a litre of wine and said that she will only charge me for half a litre and not the extra glass. So by then I have already drank a full wine glass and had like 3 more to go!! Needless to say, I didn’t finish it all but felt really bad about leaving all that wine on the table to be thrown out!! Oh poor Mission Hill!
Speaking of Mission Hill…my dad toured their winery in the Okanagan a couple weeks ago, he said it was fantastic! He also toured two others, I am so jealous!
On Saturday afternoon we went over to my aunts to help her decorate her apartment for Christmas. It was wonderful, the rum and eggnog were flowing, Josh Groban’s new Christmas cd was blasting and we were definatley getting in the spirit. Once done there, we came home and I decorated our place while Conrad had basketball practice.
That evening my mom and I went to the Regina Philharmonic Choir performance that the VP in my department at work, and his wife, were singing in. It was wonderful! To start the evening they sang ‘Oh come all ye faithful’ and I had shivers the whole time. There is something about a choir that size and a cathedral church packed with people that makes you just want to cry, it was so beautiful!
On Sunday at 9am Conrad had his first basketball game in four weeks. He was very much looking forward to this as the University strike has cancelled many of their games. They lost, unfortunately, but I met some more wives and kids of other members of his team. This is so exciting as the last two seasons he was playing with another team and I was the only fan they had…pathetic!
Then at 7pm we went over to our friends Blair and Melissa Robert’s house as they were throwing a 2nd birthday party for their daughter Makena. We met others friends of theirs and had a great time. Melissa is pregnant with their second child so that is quite exciting!
Week took our annual (2nd year) family Christmas photo yesterday with the help of my dad. Unfortunatley Moses has been sick the past couple of days and took that opportunity to sneeze it all out and all over his face the moment my dad shot the photo. Why not take another one you ask? Well we did but none of them were that great! Thank goodness for photoshop though!
On Wednesday we are going to the Bedouin Soundclash concert, we are very excited! Chel is going too but to the one in Edmonton…the Regina one will be better, I am sure!
Well, best start on studying! Have a great week everyone!

Trying to figure this whole thing out!!
I am not sure how to bring my posts from my blog to my wordpress…does anyone know? Also, how do I put up pictures? I keep trying but they just disappear?!
